About us

Let There Be Teachers

It is believed that education is a powerful tool in transforming societies and developing nations.  It is a process aimed at socialized and humanizing individual citizen through their lives from birth till death. It is a process of enlightenment and empowerment of the individual for achievement of better and high quality of life and at its very foundation is the teacher. A nation is built by its citizens, citizens are molded by teachers and teachers are made by teacher-educators.

According to Professor Ajibefun, “The teacher is the most important factor in the translation of educational ideologies, philosophies, policies and programmes into actions and reality, since national development is predicated on the philosophy of education and the standard of education.

Therefore, the role of teachers in national development is very strategic and crucial that it can no longer be left in the hands of quacks and impostors.” Today’s teachers must not only fit into the knowledge informed demands of the contemporary life, but must be at shoulder level with every other professional groups functioning in the wider context of a knowledge-driven economy.
